Thank God day five was our final one on the road. Our patience was wearing thin, and we were both very eager to get to San Diego.
We started the day with breakfast at a cute little restaurant called The Good Egg.
Then we hit the road! Since Jason drove the whole time on day 4, I spent the majority of the time behind the wheel.
The best part about the day was the different scenery. We thought we’d seen a lot of desert at this point, but soon after crossing the California state line we looked around and it was like we were temporarily transported into the movie Aladdin. Not because we were suddenly animated, but because there were barren sand dunes as far as we could see! It was unreal.
Around sunset, Jason took the wheel and we started weaving through some amazing mountains. They looked like massive piles of rocks. I’d never seen anything like it!
We got into San Diego around dinnertime. We checked into a hotel and called it an early night. We have big plans with our small apartment for Saturday!
