I have really split feelings about 2012. On the one hand, I feel like it was one of my best years yet, but on the other hand, I feel like I spent the whole year just waiting for whatever I was going through at that moment to be over. Waiting for the furniture to arrive from Atlanta so we could sleep in a bed again. Waiting for the workday to be over. Praying for the exercise class to be over. Waiting for Jason to get back from a trip. Waiting for the WSOP to be over so we could go home. Catch my drift? Emotionally, it was “the year of delayed gratification.” But more objectively, I moved over 2,000 miles to a city I love, rediscovered a life-long passion, traveled a ton, and got a great new job. Heck, I was even relatively thin part of the time. So pretty good, actually. Let’s revisit some photos:
Winter:
Kicked off the year in Atlanta. Jason’s friend threw the best party ever, and one of my best friends was there (visiting from Charleston). I’ll never forget it. A week later we hopped in the car and drove to San Diego. It took 5 days. And I started this blog.

Spring:
Was all about getting settled into our new home, meeting friends for weekends in Vegas, exploring San Diego, weddings in upstate New York and Florida.

What a fun shop entrance!
Summer:
Brought us baseball games, Opening Day at Del Mar, the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, and a girls weekend in Palm Springs. Late summer, my handsome nephew hit the scene, and we started renting a condo in Mexico. It was a busy season, even for us!

Fall:
This stud trotted his way into my life, baseball season ended, we celebrated a friend’s birthday at a winery in Temecula, and we ran off to Hawaii… Then Lake Tahoe… then Indiana for Thanksgiving.

Winter, again:
Prague, then I started my new job, and then Christmas in Atlanta. Now we’re back in S.D. gearing up to ring in another new year!

Nice! Rachel, I’d love to hear about the new job, congrats!
