Day three started off nicely with breakfast delivered to our room at exactly 8:59. Ordering room service always gives me a little thrill because it was such a treat growing up. The novelty still hasn’t worn off!
An hour later, we were out the door and across the street touring The Alamo. This is The Alamo from our hotel room window.
Neither of us knew very much about The Alamo, so we really enjoyed learning about it’s deep history. Isn’t it amazing how someplace so beautiful can have so much tragedy in it’s past?
We were on the road by 11:00, and it was probably my favorite day of driving so far. We stayed on I-10 the whole way, and it was nothing but wide open road with a speed limit of 80. Jason got pulled over doing 90 at one point, but the cop was very friendly and let us go with a warning.
We got to El Paso around 6:30. We spent the night with my brother and sister in law, so we dropped off our bags and headed to their favorite restaurant, Crave. Then we came back and played half a game of Phase 10 before calling it a night.
