Let’s talk about vegetables for a minute. Frankly, I’m not a fan. I believe my adoration for Brussels sprouts is well-documented, but outside of those and asparagus, I think they’re pretty much gross. I know they’re good for me. I know my body needs them. Most importantly, I know they’ll make me healthy & fit. But they just don’t taste good!
Fruit, on the other hand, is totally delicious. I’ll eat it all day every day. For over a year now, I’ve been told that you can put spinach in a fruit smoothie and not taste it. But you know, you can’t believe everything you hear- especially if it comes from someone with six pack abs because that person is clearly a masochist who spins lies for their own amusement.
But then I heard it from Jenna Marbles. Jenna Marbles would never lie to me!
So I took the plunge. I made a fruit smoothie with spinach. And you know what? It was totally delish. Not like Mexican Chocolate Cake delish, but definitely better than a plate of green beens (puke in my mouth).
I’ll admit, it’s not the most appetizing-looking thing… unless you habitually eat ocean sludge. But it really does taste good. And the only evidence of spinach is this lovely color that strawberry-banana-orange smoothies don’t usually have.
