The holiday weekend is over, and it’s back to business as usual. Except that we’re in Las Vegas and Jason is working everyday (which isn’t usual at all). Since we’re here for almost two months, we got a studio apartment at one of the resorts. Many poker players get together and rent houses for the summer, which is what J did last year. Because of unsynchronized travel schedules this year, everyone is renting their own place on the same floor instead. I already miss the old arrangement; even though it meant doing lots of dishes and using some pretty gross bathrooms, it was nice having everyone around all the time.
That being said, I really can’t complain about our digs. They’re pretty fabulous.
The kitchen is almost too small to be functional (mini fridge and no oven!?) but I love the mountain view. It’s easy to forget that there’s more to Las Vegas than casinos. I like waking up to this everyday.
I haven’t checked out the pool yet, but I’m sure it’s fabulous. That’s where I’ll be if you need me. Look for the redhead with a big floppy hat and a pina colada.
