Block No. 16

A new club opened downtown this weekend, so we decided to pay it a visit Saturday night.  We had the most wonderful time dancing and drowning ourselves with champagne.  Closing time came much too soon.

We arrived around 10 and it was still mostly empty, which gave us a chance to tour the new facility.  The main area has a large bar occupying the center, and it’s crawling with staff just waiting to quench your thirst.  Both upstairs and down are lined with booths, with a catwalk spanning the upper middle.  A stage and massive screen take up the whole far end.  Being there so early meant we were able to grab an unclaimed table upstairs and settle down there for the night.

Once we’d settled in I picked up the drink menu, and my eyes about bulged out of my face.  They have some fantastic drinks to share at amazing prices.  We opted for champagne and Chambord.  It was delish, and felt like a steal at only $40.

Between bottles we danced with security guards and enjoyed the club’s choreographed performance.  From servers to security, the staff couldn’t have been more delightful (which is pretty rare for a nightclub).  It’s been dubbed “OUR new place”, and we’ve already reserved a table for this Friday.  At it’s busiest last weekend, it was only comfortably full, but that won’t last.  I’m sure it won’t stay our little secret for long!
