Petco Park [a behind the scenes look]

Some of my Atlanta friends are visiting and they’re huge baseball/Braves fans.  After a nice walk by the harbor we went over for a behind-the-scenes tour of Petco Park, the Padre’s stadium.  It’s a really nice park- only a few years old and it has a public park incorporated into it that’s open to the public every day.  It was cool going down into the elite underground areas of the park, and other VIP spots.  How about that view from the press box (above)?

We also went into the dugout, and onto the actual field.

After leaving for a snack and a few drinks, we headed back to the stadium for the evening game.  We got to see the last few minutes of the Braves’ batting practice.

The Padres are such a fan-friendly franchise, and the park really facilitates that.  Some of the players were signing autographs before the game. I had Jason Headley sign my ticket.  He’s our best player, according to Jason.

The Padres beat the Braves 3-0 which was really exciting to watch.  I’m sad our friends are leaving tomorrow, but I guess we all have to go back to work at some point.  We certainly made the most of our day couple days together!
