Stitch Fix Review #2

This is my third Stitch Fix and it’s the best one yet.  I didn’t review the second, but you can find my first review here.  If you haven’t heard of Stitch Fix yet, it’s a personal styling service that sends clothing and accessories straight to your door.  Here are the awesome things they sent me this month:

The first item is a sleeveless blouse by Blu Pepper.  It was my immediate favorite and I couldn’t wait to try it on.  I love the detail on the collar. It will be finding a permanent home in my closet.  What’s really exciting is that one of you lovelies have already become a Stitch Fix customer, earning me a $25 credit.  That means this $42 blouse will only cost me the $20 styling fee!  Thanks, whoever you are!

This lace top by RD Style is my other favorite.  I’d really love to keep it, but I’ve been doing a lot of shopping lately and my budget is getting tight ($68).  It really pains me to send it back.

When I first unpacked this dress by Aryn K I thought it was just okay.  I’m glad I tried it on, though, because I ended up liking it a lot more than I expected.  I’m really tempted to keep it, but I’ve decided to return it for two reasons.  First, the price is a little more than I want to pay for a dress that I’m not obsessed with ($98).  Second, the back has a big slit that is pretty but would require a cami underneath it to hide my bra.

This is the accessory in this month’s package.  It’s a bracelet by Geranium ($45). I really like how it looks, but I don’t like how it fits.  It’s a little bigger than I would like it to be- in fact I can slide it off without unclasping it.  Due to the fit, I’m returning it.

Last is my least favorite piece by Eight Sixty ($48).  This top just doesn’t really do anything for me- I don’t like the colors or the fit.  In fact, I think the cut is downright weird with the pointy thing at my crotch.  I think that liking 4 out of 5 things is a really good success rate, but it would have been awesome if I’d loved this and been able to keep everything (earning a 25% discount on the whole order!)

With every fix, I fall more in love with this service.  I definitely feel like they read my monthly reviews and take them into account when choosing pieces for my next shipment.  What really amazes me is how well everything fits- when I’m at the mall, I can’t find things that fit myself this well!  Go check them out, and be sure to use this link so they know I sent you!

I love the first and second tops! I agree that the dress is ok, and that last top is horrible (no offense, but its just not cute in general). I really like that bracelet, I’m sad that it doesn’t fit you. But I understand because I have small wrists and bracelets hardly ever fit me.

I have a lace top like that! Now that I know it’s au courant, I’ll put it in the holiday party rotation. It’s unanimous on the last top – even my middle-aged suburban lady friends would say TOO FRUMPY. Xox, Deb

  11. Btw I just use morrocan oil formu hair! Xoxo

  12. I’m totally in love with the lace top, it’s definitely my favorite (surprise, surprise lol), but I understand where you’re coming from with the budget. I love the bracelet and the top with the gold collar as well!

  13. I LOVE that first blouse and am so glad you’re keeping it. The fit and color are super flattering on you. But girl, can’t you stretch the budge a little and keep the second top, too? It looks fantastic on you and would be so great for so many occasions. I agree with you on the last top – it doesn’t do anything for me either…the print, cut and colors are just off. When I have a little more money I want to try out this site 🙂

    • After hearing everyone’s comments about the lace, I totally wish I’d kept it. I tend to be a bit stricter than necessary with myself in the budgeting area… unfortunately, I already sent it back 😦
