Chocolate Buttermilk Cake

This is officially my new go-to chocolate cake recipe.  It’s moist, it’s rich, it’s decadent.  It’s wayyyy better than any box of cake mix I’ve ever tried.

Thank you, Emma, for sharing this recipe on A Beautiful Mess.  Your blog is a constant source of inspiration to me, and your recipes never disappoint!

About how bout some cake

Um, YUM! I saw this on A Beautiful Mess (which I’m obsessed with too, by the way!) and thought it looked delish and then saw your dead-ringer version on instagram…you did such an amazing job, Rachel! Can you come bake for my birthday?

  3. love love love the buttermilk cake! i gottta try this, but i do NOT think my chocolate trees would even look as pretty as yours! perfection!!! xO!

    • Thanks! They were actually super easy. I just put some chocolate in a ziplock, melted it in the microwave, snipped a little corner off the bag, and free handed them on parchment paper. They popped right off after an hour in the fridge.
