Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

I think that I eat a lot of bananas.  When I’m in the grocery store, I often think to myself “buy bananas, you eat those all the time!” Then I get home and realize I have 3 spotty bananas sitting in my fruit basket because, well, I don’t actually eat that many of them.  This happens weekly, so I have a lot of over-ripe bananas on my hands.  If I wait just a day or two too long, I’ll chop them up and freeze them for a breakfast smoothie.  But if they’ve gone just one day beyond that, they’re bound for bread.  This recipe always hits the spot.  Of course, I add chocolate chips.  Per the serving suggestion, I enjoy it with a drizzle of honey.

It’s brunch-worthy, but also homey enough to eat alone with a good book and strong cup of coffee.  And let’s be honest: it’s basically dessert for breakfast.  Talk about the start of a glorious day!

Yum! I love regular banana bread too, but chocolate makes it even better!

Haha the same thing happens to me with bananas! I always buy them because I think I eat a lot of them but they always go bad. I just made a similar recipe a couple weeks ago. This one looks just as delicious!
